The Broadcasting Mission and The Everlasting Gospel

Broadcasting--An Exquisite Tool for World Evangelization

In the 20th century, radio and television broadcasting came into being, and soon proved to be an innovative means of world evangelization. It contributed greatly to spreading the Good News of the Gospel of Salvation to the un-reached areas of the world, far beyond the barriers which make traditional missionary work impossible.

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the

firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” (Dan. 12:3)

“6. And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.

7. Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” (Rev. 14:6-7)

These words describe the proclamation of the Last Day message which shall be fulfilled. God has commissioned us to broadcast for Him in this last period of world history. Therefore, simultaneously for all broadcasting mission leaders and mission organizations, this truth is part of the wonderful plan and vision of God.

Lately, reading the article “Radio and the New Roman Road” in the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) magazine (Religious Broadcasting, Sept. 1999), we see that the broadcasting ministry brought about a geometrical expansion of world evangelization.

Two thousand years ago, the apostle Paul was called and ordained by God to carry the Gospel to the four corners of the earth. He walked on Roman roads and spoke in Greek, generally recognized as the most highly-developed and precise of all languages. Without those two key means of communication, it would have been nearly impossible for him to land at the Port of Neopolis, make his way to Philippi and be part of one of the defining moments in Western history.

The Internet is today's Roman road, leading to every place in the world that has a telephone line, soon making possible an

even greater outreach via satellite. The universal language being imposed on the world is English.
The roads we use to communicate our message have been widened and expanded by the Internet, the new Roman road. This technology affords broadcasters an unprecedented opportunity to reach the world. Every Christian radio station and programmer can stream its broadcasts onto the Internet. Truly, the fields are white unto harvest. We have a historic opportunity to travel this road and use this language to lead the world to Christ.

The Broadcasting Mission of the Gospel of Grace

The 20th century, with the appearance of radio, television and communication satellites, enables us to be able to fulfill the Great Commission of the Lord effectively to the global village, which consists of diverse cultures and languages.

The appearance of these means of mass media has turned out to be a wonderful blessing of God for his servants and the organizations that are commissioned to spread the message of the gospel of grace to the ends of the earth. Radio and television broadcasting provided a means of expanding world evangelism in the 20th century. It became a means of lighting a bright flame for achieving the goal of reaching the ends of the earth and fulfilling the vision of ministering the passion of the gospel of grace. (Mk. 16:15; Acts 1:8)

The Broadcasting Mission in the United States of America
Through the NRB in the United States, many mission organizations early realized the importance of the broadcasting ministry. As a result and in order to carry out the task of world missions, they established a grand strategy for broadcasting the gospel and carried out this work with dedication. This contributed greatly to open the door in the age of mass media gospel broadcasting in the U.S. and throughout the world. Now, the NRB serves as an umbrella organization over more than 90% of all the Christian broadcast networks in the world and is a great influence in the work of world evangelization. Broadcast organizations in the U.S. in the 21st century will make it possible to fulfill the wonderful vision of God and open a new chapter in gospel broadcasting. I know they need our prayer and our financial support. Because of this, we have to enter into a new phase of the end-time Great Commission by being one united body of all Christians who love the Lord. We have to adjust our vision to the new plan and goal of God. (Dan. 12:3; Eph. 4:3; 4:11-13; Mt. 28:18-20)
