The Second Woe: Second Stage of the Great Tribulation
“13. And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14. Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 18. By these three was the third part of men killed by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. 20. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21. Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.” (Rev. 9:13-21)

1. The Four Angels
An hour, and a day, and a month, and a year speak about the time of the horrible nuclear war which shall inflame the world as World War III in the future. The four angels which are loosed from the river Euphrates represent the clash of four great military powers with the result of one-third of the world’s population perishing in nuclear war. For this war, an army of two hundred thousand thousands (200 million) shall gather at the river Euphrates in the Middle East, and the fighting shall spread to the whole world, igniting further conflicts which shall escalate into World War IV. (Rev. 9:14-18; 11:14; 16:12-16)

In Revelation chapter 7, four angels appear standing at the Four Corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth. This wind also signifies the radioactive winds of nuclear dust, which shall be blown to the ends of the earth. This therefore describes the four great political powers as four angels, which shall cause worldwide tribulation.

God gave a space of time for the preparation of the servants of God to be sealed before the second woe follows the first woe. (Rev. 7:1-4; 14:1-5) The number of the sealed coincides with those who are standing on mount Zion with the Lord and the righteous, the prophets, apostles and martyrs of the fourteenth chapter, verses 1-7. (Rev. 6:9-11; 11:7; 12:11; 13:7; 14:1-5,13; 15:2-3; 17:14; 18:20, 24; 19:7-8, 14; 20:4) This is the number of those who are equipped with the seal of God through the Everlasting Gospel before the Great Tribulation begins to fight against the power of Satan and have victory over the enemy in the midst of the tribulation. (Rev. 13) They include the martyrs who shall participate in the millennium kingdom after the Second Coming of the Lord, who shall ride forth on a white horse. (Rev. 19:11-16; 20:5-6)

2. Nuclear War
Present Status of Nuclear Warheads in the World.

Russia(Former Soviet Union) 10.000 - 13.000 Units
France 482 Units
China 430 Units or more
U.K. 200 Units or more (Unofficial)
India 60 Units or more
Parkistan 25 - 15 Units (Unofficial)
Israel 100 Units or more
North Korea Presumption to be holding weapons
South Korea Presumption to be holding weapons

What the apostle John saw as fire, smoke and brimstone in the vision describes war by nuclear weapons. This nuclear war shall be fought on all fronts throughout the earth. It shall include land, air and sea battles. Horrible massacres shall sweep over the world in an unprecedented way. There shall be nuclear missile exchanges, cities in flames, literally seas of flames blanketing areas throughout the whole world. Every large city shall be burnt to ashes. The streets of what were towns and villages shall be filled with dead bodies. Even after this wretched spectacle of nuclear war itself, people will continue to suffer and die due to radioactive polluted air, ground and water contamination and the resulting starvation and diseases. (Ezek. 38, 39; Rev. 11:18; 9:14-16; 16:12-16; Lk. 21:24; Joel 2:4-11; Zep. 1:15-18; Rev. 6:3-4; 8:7-13; Isa. 34:1-3; Rev. 11:14)

At present, twenty-five nations are developing weapons of mass destruction. Forty-four other nations have the capacity to produce nuclear weapons. Mankind is also being increasingly threatened today by bio-chemical weapons. These and nuclear weapons already held by these nations are being increasingly used as threats to settle the many disputes between nations.

Russia is holding 40,000 tons of chemical weapons--the largest amount in the world at present--and Iraq is holding 200 tons of a fatal nerve gas which is enough to destroy all of mankind. North Korea is holding over 5,000 tons of toxic gases and chemical weapons, and has been developing bio-chemical weapons during the last thirty years.

Recently, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, put out by the nuclear scientists of the USA, warned that the indicator of the destruction of mankind by nuclear weapons, the Doomsday Clock, pointed 14 minutes to zero hour in 1995, but changed to 9 minutes to zero hour in l998. The zero hour of the clock indicates the moment of the total destruction of mankind by nuclear warfare.

Atomic Scientists point out that after the cold war ended, (1) the failure of diplomatic negotiations of the world powers in the field of nuclear weapons, and (2) the possibility of the collapse of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, and (3) the failure of reducing the number of the nuclear weapons tend to suggest that large-scale disasters without historical precedence are very close to being unleashed upon the world.

As recently as 1999, the U.S. Senate shocked the international community by voting down the CTBT agreement. All these point to the eminence of nuclear disasters and nuclear war as prophesied in the second woe of Revelation. This is not the figment of someone’s imagination. It is a clear sign that the Lord’s return is near. (Isa. 34:1-7; Zep. 1:12-18; Dan. 12:1; Matt. 24:21-22; Rev. 6:15-17; Lk. 21:24; Joel 2:4-11; Zep. 1:15-18; Isa. 34:1-3; Rev. 6:3-4; 8:7-13; 9:14-19; 11:14; 16:12-16; 19:16)

3. The Fullness of Wickedness

Despite such unprecedented global disaster, man will not repent of their sins. They will continue to devote themselves to idolatry, shamanism, mammonism (the worship of riches) and astrology. Just as in Noah’s time, men shall be committing murder, thievery, homosexuality and following their lust into dissolution. Due to moral perversion, corruption and wickedness shall increase more and more. (Gen. 6:5-7; 19:5-11; 2 Tim. 3:1-7; Matt. 24:37-39; Lk. 17:26-30; 2 Pet. 2: 3:3-7; Jude; Rev. 16:9, 11, 18:2-4; 19:20-21; 20:11-15; 21:8; 22:15)

Satan has been concealing himself for a long time, but in the future, he shall reveal himself with open hatred of God and His saints. Buddhism, Islam, Osama Bin Laden and A1 Qaeda (International Terrorists), Hinduism, Astrology, Shintoism, Taoism, Central American Mayan Idolatry, Shamanism, Animism, Fortune-telling, Ancestral worship, Polygamy, Satanism, TM, UFO, Mind-Science, Homosexuality, Goddess worship, Freemasonry, the New Age Movement, etc. are only so many forms of idolatry. The anti-Christ spirits of darkness are already an integral part of the secular world’s mindset.

At the very time in which we live today, the religion of Satanism, which defiles the name of God and of Jesus Christ, is officially recognized and is accepted on a large scale throughout the world. It has legal recognition and claims its rights along with other religions. Consequently, it is gaining a large following and is making effective use even of the universities and mass media. The world is on its way to the critical and shocking time of the end of the last days.

4. The Prophesying of the Two Witnesses
“3. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.” (Rev. 11:3-4)

These words are about the two witnesses who shall receive power from the Lord to prepare the earth for the second coming of the Lord, to fight against power of Satan who blasphemes against God. (Zech. 4:11-14; Ps. 52:8; Rom. 11:17) The two witnesses shall proclaim repentance strongly to both physical and spiritual Israel. Their ministry shall be during the first half of the seven-year period, three and a half years (1,260 days, a thousand two hundred and threescore days--Rev. 12:6). They shall be clothed in sackcloth and shall proclaim the mystery of the little book to the whole earth. They lead the people who are not deceived by the Anti-Christ in preparing for the tribulation, disaster and the judgment. They are servants of God who prophesy about the Second Coming of the Lord and the fearful things that are coming upon the earth. They are empowered by God. (Zech. 4:1-6; Rev. 10:7, 11; 14:6-7; 7:2-3; 2:26-27; 11:6; 19:16; Amos 3:7-8)

“5. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.” (Rev. 11:5-6)

God, who worked through Moses and Elijah, shall grant that same power to the two witnesses to trample down the power of the beast, which came up from the bottomless pit, the enemy of God and of Jesus Christ. (Jam. 5:16-20; Ex. 7:17; Zech. 4:6; 4:10; Rev. 11:7-8; 11:11, 13, 18-19; 5:6)

Moses and Elijah worked for Israel, but these two witnesses who shall exercise the ministry of the last days for preparing for the Lord's return, shall receive even more power from God to openly defy and belittle the power of the dragon, the scorpion, the beast-Antichrist and the false prophet until their ministry is completed.

Their power is that of blessing and cursing, like Moses and Elijah. They shall be able to direct this power wherever and whenever they wish to smite evildoers. They shall plunge into the battle against unbelief and the power of Satan accompanied by a heavenly host of angels. (Isa. 41:15; Dan. 2:34-35; Mal. 4:3; Lk. 10:19; 2 Ki. 1:10; Rev. 2:26-27; 1:1-3, 7-11; 10:7, 11; 11:6)

The mission of the two witnesses is different from that of normal pastors, evangelists, and theologians. A servant, who received the power of the two witnesses under the Sovereign power of God, will be commissioned with the mission of sealing the foreheads of the servants of God through the Everlasting Gospel. (Ezek. 9:3-4; Rev. 7:2-3; 21:17) This servant will receive mighty power to prepare the world for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. (Dan. 7:13; Matt. 24:30; Rev. 1:7; 6:17; 19:16) A mission such as that of the two witnesses is a special divine work, so that through profound prayer, those who receive the spiritual insights from the seven Spirits of God show the work of mystery of God to them. (Rev. 1:4; 4:5; 5:6) This mission is to prepare the world for the second coming of the Lord: 144,000 shall be sealed. They, along with others who are the righteous, the prophets, the apostles, and the martyrs shall work in the last days to raise an army of Christian witnesses, and this is the work of these servants. (Amos. 3:7-8; Rev. 5:6; 22:20)

5. The Political World Rule of the Beast
“4. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him? 5. And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” (Rev. 13: 4-7)

The forty-two month reign of the beast is the period of the second three and a half years of the seven-years period of great tribulation. The reign of the Antichrist, and the atheistic government of the beast shall be established and shall blaspheme the name of God and the people of God for forty-two months. (Rev. 14:8:11) This beast government is empowered by Satan. It will receive power from the dragon and try to direct the worship of God to himself. (Matt. 4:8-10) This beast is the one who is against God and persecutes and kills the people of God. What does it mean, that the beast government will reign over the whole world with power? It signifies that there shall come an unprecedented persecution of Christians throughout the whole world. Because of this, many lukewarm saints shall bow before the beast and great apostasy shall occur. During this period, there shall be much spilling of the blood of believers, and many righteous and prophets shall become martyrs. (Rev. 6:9-11; 11:7; 12:11; 13:7; 14:1-5,13; 15:2-3; 17:14; 18:20, 24; 19:1-3, 7-8, 14; 20:4)

6. The Ecclesiastical World Rule of the Mother of Harlots
“11. And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14. And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Rev. 13:11-15)

The power of the beast shall infiltrate the churches. Because of this, many churches shall come under the influence of the Antichrist, symbolized by a fallen woman, that is, the Harlot. These perform miracles and show themselves off under the guise of Judaism, Catholicism, the World Council of Churches and those who do iniquity through the power of the false Christ. False prophets will rise up from within Christianity. (Matt. 24:23-24; Mk. 13:22; Rev. 11:1; 17:1-6; Ezek. 9:5-7; 1Peter 4:17-18; Mt. 23:13-33) This ecclesiastical power, the Harlot, shall perform miracles with the fire of Satan and shall force the unification of the world’s religions.

This Harlot makes the people kneel down and worship the beast government. Ultimately, the power of beast shall unify the world as a beast government using ecclesiastical authority, the Harlot. In this period, there shall be pressure and persecution of the saints. Those whose names are not written in the book of life shall buckle under to threats and yield to pressure to worship the beast. (Rev. 13:8) But those who received the seal of God through the Everlasting Gospel shall stand on mount Zion. They shall fight against the power of Satan to the last and shall be experience martyrdom. (Rev. 11:1-5; 14:1-7; 7:2-3; Ezek. 9:3-4; Hag. 2:23; Rev. 9:4; 14:6-7)

7. Unification of the World Economy
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.” (Rev. 13:16)

The world economy shall cave in as never before in history. There shall be a sudden great financial panic. At this time, there shall be a sinister move to purchase the bankrupt world economy by a single entity, and this power shall quickly unify the world’s economy into a single monolithic structure.

This economic structure will be controlled by the economic principle of Mammonism. All monetary matters and the place of the individual in society and the nations shall be reorganized. The time is coming when every individual in society shall be under the control of a gigantic information network. (Rev. 18:1-4) The final destination of the unification of the world economic system or Mammonism is to subordinate the world economy under the beast power. All who submit to it will receive the mark of the beast in their right hands or in their foreheads and shall bow before this beast power. (Rev. 14:8-11; 16:2; 19:20; 20:10)

“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” (Rev. 14:11)

But God shall not allow the unrighteous work of Satan to continue and shall judge the beast and his image and those who bow to it utterly and completely. (Rev. 16:18-19)

8. The Number of the Beast
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Rev. 13:18)

The members of Satan’s junta that appeared previously--that is, the Antichrist government of atheism, the ecclesiastical authority Harlot, and the economic system of Mammonism-- is identified by the number of six hundred and sixty six (666). This number shall unify the whole world with the idea of the atheists (the mark of the beast in the forehead). It shall unify religion with pluralism and unify the world economic system with Mammonism (the mark of the beast in the right hand). Then, the people of God have to wage powerful war against the three numbers of the beast, which cause the people to worship the power of the beast. This means war between theism and atheism, and it shall be the ideological war of God-centered deism and humanistic atheism. The number of those 144,000 who are sealed of God (Rev. 9:4; 7:2-3; 14:1-5) belong to the theism of God-centered believing; the number of those with the mark of the beast belong to humanistic atheism, that is, Satan. (Rev. 13, 16, 17, 18, 20:11-15; 21:8; 22:15)

The servant who received the power of the witnesses, i.e., the righteous, the prophets, apostles and martyrs who are equipped with the Everlasting Gospel and the seal of God, shall fight against with the power of the three numbers of the Devil and shall overcome them and glorify God.

9. The Martyrdom of the Two Witnesses
“7. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.” (Rev. 11:7-8)

The servant who received the power of the witnesses to seal the 144,000 shall not be harmed by the power of Satan, but under the Sovereignty of God, shall fight against the power of the Beast and overcome it. (Rev. 11:5-6) After performing his commission of sealing the servants of God with the seal of God through the testimony of the Little Book (Rev. 10:2-3,7,11), that is, the Everlasting Gospel, he shall then suffer martyrdom and so glorify God. (Ezek. 9:3-4; Rev. 7:2-3; 10:2-3, 7, 11; 11:5-6; 21:17) This commission can be understand by those who receive the spiritual insights of the Seven Spirits. (Rev. 5:6; Amos. 3:7-8) The detailed contents of the words of the Little Book are written in chapter ten of the Outline of Revelation presented in this book. The text speaks about the place where they should be killed, saying that it signifies Jerusalem, Israel, the land of the crimes against Jesus. (Rev. 6:9-11; 11:7; 12:11; 13:7; 14:1-5, 13; 15:2-3; 17:14; 18:20, 24; 19:7-8, 14; 20:4)

“And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.” (Rev. 11:9)

The world is the place where Satan operates and the wicked rejoice to see the affliction and death of the Servants of God. They do not believe in immortality and the Biblical blowing of the trumpets of warning. The whole world shall see the dead bodies on television, and shall ridicule the Servants who received power to witness against the wicked worldwide government system. The commission of the two witnesses, which started at the beginning of the tribulation, shall end at the middle of the seven-year tribulation. (Rev. 14:6-7; 7:2-3; 11:9-11)

10. Their Resurrection
“11. And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.” (Rev. 11:11-13)

The Spirit of life from God shall enter into the two witnesses, who will die as martyrs after their affliction and persecution, and they will stand up on their feet and ascend up to heaven in the presence of the watching world. Final victory shall be for God! Soon after that, disasters shall start being poured out upon the great city of Jerusalem. Many shall die and many buildings will fall to the earth. The tenth part of the city shall fall, and the number of dead men, seven thousand, is the full number of God. This, then, actually indicates that it shall be an incalculable number.

The first woe and the second woe are now past. The period of the equipping of the saints has lasted thus far, and also the period of powerful warfare between the power of the Saints and the power of Satan. (Rev. 2:10; 14:6-7; 7:2-3; 14:1; 17:14; 2:26-27; 5:6-8; 8:3-4; 11:6; Jam. 5:16-18; Josh. 10:12-14; 1King 18:37-40; Ex. 17:11-14; Lk. 18:7-8; Rev. 10:11; 22:20)

“14. The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 15. And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” (Rev. 11:14-15)
