Brought Back From The Dead

Greetings to all the saints all over the world who long for the Second Coming of the Lord and are faithful and eager to complete the unfulfilled task of world missions; I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will come again as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

It has been quite a long time since the Everlasting Gospel Mission journal, vol. 9-1, was issued. I have been spending much of my time conducting leadership seminars and healing crusades all over the world. I have visited cities from Kumasi, Ghana in West Africa to Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa. My journey has taken me from Donetsk, Ukraine in the north to Port-au-Prince, Haiti in Latin America and to Hyderabad, Pakistan in Asia.

I have led mission conferences and conducted workshops. Through the power of Holy Spirit, the messages I have preached and the laying on of hands, many church leaders were able to equip themselves for spiritual warfare with the end time message and spiritual power. I have witnessed the amazing works of God as many sick with various diseases were miraculously healed. I have witnessed the explosion of powerful spiritual awakenings and revivals in these nations. Many people saw visions of the end times and were stirred to proclaim the Gospel.

I claim no credit for these mighty manifestations of God. The Lord has used me for His end time outpouring and demonstrated His dynamic power through healing messages, powerful prayers and the working of miracles. I believe that these miracles are the result of my coworker's persistent prayer support for our world mission.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for my coworker's fervent prayers and encouragement that enable me to go into the world with the power of the Holy Spirit. It is my goal to conduct mission conferences around the world, and I deeply appreciate their continued support and prayers. Furthermore, if you or others such as church groups or Christian organizations would like to receive the mission journal, please send me names and addresses, and I will send it at no charge.

My personal Testimony

In the previous Mission issue, I briefly shared my testimony. I have been urged to write a more complete account of my experiences. Thus, I will give a more detailed narrative in this issue. It is my deepest desire that people will find God through this testimony. I pray it will encourage you to press on with the work of the Holy Spirit to bring glory and honor to our God and His son Jesus Christ.

For over forty years, I have served the Lord in His vineyard and prayed and fasted for world missions. I started in Korea and in other Asian countries and then moved to the nations of the world, proclaiming the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ. My journey for world missions started with God's calling me into the ministry with His power to preach in every nation. I have endured many years of persecution and affliction because I have chosen to carry my cross and follow Jesus up Mount Calvary. I have experienced the deep sorrows of others, as I laid hands on them with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. For me to suffer adversity and hardship for the Lord has been an experience of great joy and honor. To this day, I feel humbled that God would choose to use someone like me as an instrument for His ultimate plan, and I give glory and thanks to Him.

Orphan Boy With a Destiny

I was born in a poor but happy and very respectable family in Pyungyang, Korea. At the time of my birth, Korea was in political crisis because it was under the control of Japan. The Japanese were ruthless, and their policies created unstable political and economic conditions for the Korean people. At the age of ten, I experienced the greatest blessing of my life when I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. One day, while I was still in my youth, I was faced with a shocking tragedy. I lost my beloved parents and siblings to the black plague. Since I was the only survivor of the epidemic, I became an orphan in the streets.

At that young age I had to struggle for food and shelter, and had to fight through many desperate situations to stay alive. During the winter, I had no way to keep warm. Therefore, I constantly suffered frostbite and earnestly cried out to God. Surprisingly, the Lord always miraculously healed me. Although I had no parents or relatives to care for me, God did not leave me alone. He comforted me with His gracious love, and through His guidance He gave me strength to live. I could not have done it without the Lord. During those years I really learned what Jesus meant when He gave the gracious invitation: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"(Mt. 11:28). I continued to grow up in the Lord and matured into a man of God.

Faith During Turmoils

As a young adult, my heart was filled with love and passion for the Lord. I was faced with yet another urgent crisis and had to cry out again for His guidance. The Koreans were still under Japanese control, and Christians were the main target of persecution. They were the interrogated and severely tortured for their beliefs.

Even under such circumstances, Pyungyang, my home and the capital of North Korea was the nucleus of the activity of the Holy Spirit. It came to be called the "Jerusalem of the Far East." While the work of the Holy Spirit was shaking the whole city and spreading like wildfire, we were liberated from the oppression of the Japanese army. They were defeated by the U. S. army in World War ¥± on August 15, 1945.

While we celebrated our liberation from Japan's occupation, the tempestuous wind of Communism began to sweep the country. The bloody civil war between North and South Korea started and became known by the date it began: "The 6.25". The Communist government was stricter and more oppressive than the Japanese; they showed no pity for anyone. The saints of God were mercilessly massacred, and many believers were tortured and martyred for their faith.

Arrest and Escape

An excellent description of the Communists is given in the Book of Revelation 6:3-4. They received a large sword to kill, maim and mutilate, and wherever they went, a bloodbath and great carnage followed in their wake. Despite the persecution, I continued to witness to the Gospel of Jesus, until one day I was arrested by the secret police. Under their justice system, I was condemned to die and was put on death row to await execution within 24 hours.

I fell on my knees in the prison cell, and prayed with all my heart for God's guidance and help. Suddenly, I heard the voice of the Lord coming to me in verses of Scripture that I had buried in my heart:

"In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me"(Ps. 120:1).

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world"(John 16:33).

Strengthened by the Word of God, I gained courage to try to escape. That night, I slipped out the compound while the guards were asleep. As I sneaked out of the prison and reached the outside, the watch tower guards saw me and started shooting. Relying on the Word of God, I ran with all my strength through the barrage of bullets. As I was running away from them, I could hear and see the gun shots hitting the ground and missing me by inches. God protected me from the massive gunfire, and not a hair on my head was harmed. Hallelujah!

Free and a New Life

After I escaped, I went up into the mountains, dug a trench and hid. I read the Bible over and over again, and the Word of God was so sweet and peaceful to me. I realized that memorizing it was the only way to keep the Communists from finding a Bible on me and punishing or killing me. Therefore, I prayed to the Lord to help me memorize the Scriptures. He heard my earnest prayer and gave me the ability to memorize most of the Bible. Whenever I was un the midst of hardship, I called to mind the faithful Word of God. I was able to overcome almost every difficulty. As I stood firm on God's Word, He gave me the assurance I needed to overcome my troubles.

Finally, I was able to cross over into democratic South Korea. The United Nations Army came over into North Korea to help me escape. There were no religious restrictions in the South, and I was allowed to God's work freely. The Lord blessed me with a beautiful wife and family who love the Lord. I was then able to continue my lifelong dream of serving God.

A Dread Disease

Growing up as a young boy, I had a healthy body and I disciplined myself with rigorous physical training, and so often received compliments on my physique. However, when I turned twenty-seven, in October, 1954, my health suddenly began to deteriorate.

Everyday two doctors came to the house to monitor my situation and try to cure me. They tried to make a diagnosis, but all the results were inconclusive. I was in severe pain, and I could not eat, drink or sleep for nearly a month. I reached the time when I could barely breathe. It got so bad that my blood vessels ruptured. I began to bleed internally, and blood gushed out from my body orifices. The doctors gave me up to die because my disease could not be cured by modern medicine. Death loomed over me, and I could sense that everyone else had given up on me, also.

Supernatural Intervention

I placed my Bible on my chest and then on my head because of the extreme pain and prayed diligently for God's healing power. God did not fail me!(Eccl. 8:17). I felt His Presence all around me, and I knew that He had come to save me. In a vision, I saw the Lord who shed His blood on the cross with a crown of thorns on His head. He said, "I died on the cross for your sins". I cried continuously because I was so deeply moved after I heard His merciful voice. Jesus cleansed me with His precious blood, revived my soul, and  baptized me with His Holy Spirit(Rom. 5:8).

My experience with the Holy Spirit was very unique. Each manifestation of the Holy Spirit was given through Jesus in the exact order as described in the Bible. Jesus burned all the disease in my body with the fire of the Holy Spirit, and my body became too hot to touch. I experience an inexpressible peace of God(Acts 2:2-3). After that, the living water of the Holy Spirit, along with heavenly light, came over me. I felt as if I could fly because my body became so light(John 7:38).

I also experienced the fragrance of the Holy Spirit. My wife and others smelled an aroma that permeated the room. We were all so euphoric that it seemed we were intoxicated with His Divine Presence. At that moment, a voice from heaven came again like the sound of many waters:

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"(John 11:25-26).

While listening to the words of Jesus, all pain disappeared, and I lost all desire to live in this world. My prayer changed completely. Because of the ordeals I had endured as an orphan, suffering under communism, and the suffering of my illness, I told the Lord that I did not want to live any longer on earth. I prayed that He would take me away so I could live with Him.

Caught Up Into Paradise

As I was praying, a dazzling light shined down from heaven, and two angels appeared. They said,  "We are sent by God to lead you to His House." I was delighted! When we began to ascend, we were hindered by evil spirit who grabbed at my feet. But the angels commanded, "This is the chosen man of God. Step back!"  Immediately, the demons disappeared. The angels held my arms and we began to ascend quickly. When we arrived at the door of heaven, there was a book. My name was on the list of names, and I was allowed to enter.

The closer I got to heaven, the brighter the light glowed, and a beautiful sound of melody and worship filled the air. I was welcomed by angels and many saints in white robes. They greeted me with hallelujahs and praises to God. One surprising thing was that all heaven seemed to be celebrating the arrival of a single saved soul.

My Encounter With Jesus

I will never forget the ecstasy I experienced when I met Jesus! I saw many things in heaven and I had many conversations with the Lord. He exhorted me specifically to tell the world these three things: that Jesus was resurrected and ascended into heaven; that all the saints in the world should be filled with the Holy Spirit for the assurance of salvation; and that He would come again soon.

The Lord took me to a place where there were many books. Taking one off the shelf, He showed me certain prophecies shortly to be fulfilled. It seemed as if I were watching a film. It was the Book of revelation, and I was fascinated by its wonderful promises of blessing(Rev. 1:3, 22:18-19). Then I saw horrible events such as the unleashing wrath of God and Jesus' judgement of the wicked. I was so shaken and terrified that I became speechless.

Again the Lord showed me the spiritual condition of the church. Many churches were under the shadow of darkness. However, there was a group of people in white robes who were faithful to God and praying diligently. The Lord said that the saints and churches that pray and are spiritually awake keep the Church alive and people must know how important prayer is.

The Lord said my work on earth was not yet completed. He confirmed my calling to witness to others about the prophetic return of Jesus Christ. He asked me to carry the cross loyally for Him to prepare for the Second Advent. The Bible admonishes us to give a portion of food at the proper time and this portion is the revelation of the end time truth and prophecy(Mt. 24:21-22; Rev. 14:6-7, 5:6, 22:20-21). The Lord added that this revelation would only be understood through the seven Spirit of God. I heard again the words of John the Revelator:

"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters"(Rev. 14:6-7).

"And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads"(Rev. 7:2-3).

"And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth"(Rev. 5:6).

I felt as if I were there with John seeing a rerun of his revelation! From heaven I looked down at my dead body, covered with a white sheet. With a command from Jesus and led by the angels, I then left was glorious heaven and came back to life two hours and thirty minutes later. My family and friends who were preparing for my burial with great sorrow shouted for joy when they saw I had come back to life again!

Ministering For the Lord

Since that miracle I have been completely healed by God's mercy and grace. I have vowed to live the rest of my life for Him. I have sacrificed land, property and my life ambitions to serve Him completely. Since then, praying day and night, fasting and witnessing to others has become my lifestyle.

I worked on the front lines with nine mission strategies for the evangelization of my country. My mission work has grown rapidly. With the encouragement of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, 300,000 souls have come to Jesus through the ministry. Hallelujah!

The Lord  has indeed blessed and enlarged my ministry to the world. I am now able to bring the Gospel to neighboring Japan, Taiwan as well as regions in Southeast Asia, Africa, America and Europe. Just like in the Bible, when we are faithful in little things, the Lord puts us in charge of many and big things(Mt. 25:21). I know that the means for expanding His Kingdom are endless.

In 1974 I was led by the Holy Spirit to fast for 40 days. I received a word of revelation from Jesus who said, "It is time to proclaim the three stages of truth for My second coming." He also commanded me to share this urgent message with all nations. So I moved my missionary headquarters to America and started the International Everlasting Gospel Mission. Since then, the Lord has led me through 40 days of fasting on 21 different occasions.

Our Decaying Society

As we look at the world crisis today, we can clearly see that the Bible predictions are slowly unfolding(Mt. 24:3-51). I sense many end time prophecies are being fulfilled. Many people live Christless, sinful lives. It is evident that more people are following the road of violence, drugs, fornication, homosexuality, murder, terrorism, satanic cults and satanic rock music. As in the days of Noah, people ignore warnings of unrighteous living. They give their hearts to worldly pleasures without thinking of the coming of God's judgment.

The power of evil is increasing in all corners of the world. Liberal theology disputes the fundamental truth of the Bible. Dead orthodoxism secularizes the Church as it ritualizes the power of the Holy Spirit, even though it pursues a form of godliness(2 Tim. 3:1-5; 2 Pet. 3:2-4; Lk. 18:8). Various pestilences, unknown diseases, earthquakes of great magnitude, unprecedented flooding, ethnic wars, industrial pollution, and national tragedies are making us aware that the end time is very near(Lk. 21:11).

Fulfilling the Great Commission

However, the Good News of Jesus Christ started 2,000 years ago and now it is moving rapidly across every nation at an incredible rate(Dan. 12:4). Radio, television, literature, mass evangelization, high-technology and modern transportation are being used for His Kingdom. These are effective tools to accelerate global scale evangelism. I am confident that the Great Commission of our Lord can be fulfilled in our generation if the Body of Christ will make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit.

We can achieve this, and it is not an impossible dream. All the saints and servants of God who are called in the name of Jesus, must help one another in the power of Holy Spirit. I have joined forces with many ministers and saints to bring God's message to every nation. I firmly believe that God will reveal Himself to mankind in this era. We can and will fulfill the Great Commission in our generation.

Concluding Thoughts

We are looking into the 21st century, before the mark of the beast-666-appears to rule over the world. My fellow servants of God who serve faithfully on the front lines of world missions must be equipped with the supernatural power of the Spirit and the seal of the Living God(Rev. 9:4, 2:26-27, 13:16-18). I pray that we all can take part in the Great Commission to proclaim convincingly the Everlasting Gospel all over the world before the Second Coming of Christ(Rev. 14:6-7).

I hope that we will communicate and keep prayer fellowship with each other through the Holy Spirit. I request your continuous prayers for us so that we may faithfully fulfill this precious calling entrusted to us by God. Prayer is the most urgent and vital support to achieve this calling. It is the key to spiritual power. I and the members of IEGM have made a commitment to pray for you, that you will be able to carry out the common goal for the Lord and be victorious in all your spiritual warfare through the power of the Spirit.

I am praying that He will open the door for us to meet together in the near future and that we can share the good things of God in your country. May the Lord's blessings be on you, your ministry, and your nation as you commit yourself to Him and the Everlasting Gospel.

Together, fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ in this generation.
